La Chacana is produced by PROCAFEQ, a cooperative in Ecuador’s Loja province. This washed blend, cultivated between 1500 and 2100 meters, offers notes of blackberry, cacao, and sweetness.
PROCAFEQ is a cooperative of smallholder coffee farmers, with approximately 300 member families. They produce 40,000 kg of green coffee every year. They work to reinvest in Ecuador, with Reforestation projects to protect water sources, investment in community infrastructure (schools, health clinics) and investment in processing infrastructure. They even have had multiple Cup of Excellence finalist entries.
